HOW CAN I MANAGE TWO OR MORE CHILDREN
At Kindermusik Discovery there are several features we have put in place to make things easier for families with more than one child.
Sibling discounts - there is a tuition reduction if more than one child is registered at a time. Additionally, if your younger child takes a class for which you already have materials the cost of those items would be deducted from your total.
Simultaneous classes - at our new dedicated studio on Roblin we have two classrooms, so it is possible that both your children could attend their class simultaneously. Classes are timed to ensure children are fully supervised, and that the parent is able to attend Sharing Time at the end of the older child's class. Please inquire about how that works!
Back to back classes - at our locations where we have only a single classroom you can still have two children attend in turns, especially if you have a relative or friend willing to care for your other child. Try this at The Forks and then go for lunch!
We just had a new baby - while baby is still young enough to remain (mostly) content in an infant carrier you can bring him/her along to an older child's class. Once baby becomes independently mobile other arrangements should be made, for his own safety and for the enjoyment of children registered in the class. Siblings of any age are welcome for Sharing Time in the independent classes.
"Family Time" - a new curriculum designed for multi-age siblings to attend class together. While the best learning environment for most children will still be the regular age-focused classes, this is a convenient option for those times when two or more separate classes is not possible.
REFUNDS
Refunds are not generally given. Your child has a spot reserved just for him/her in a 15-week program. Please give your child at least 3-4 weeks to get used to a new group. Refunds may be given due to a family move or serious illness necessitating withdrawal from the class and will be discussed on a case by case basis. Refunds cannot be given on opened materials unless they are in resalable condition. Your payment will be fully refunded if I must cancel a class because of insufficient registration.
MISSED CLASSES
If the instructor must cancel a class for any reason an extra class will be tacked on the end of the session. If you must miss a class, it may be possible to attend another scheduled class that week, depending on the number of children registered. Call and inquire if you must be away. This is the only provision for missed classes. Make-up classes must be completed within the current term.
KINDERMUSIK AGE GUIDELINES
The Kindermusik age guidelines are designed to help families find a class with the right balance of stimulation, challenge, and emotional comfort. Each child is on their own developmental timetable, and each child will be ready in some areas earlier than others. Children benefit from the opportunity to learn from what older kids do, but they also need some times in their life when they can be the leader, the one who succeeds, the one who the little ones look up to. If a child is always the youngest one in his/her group, s/he may feel s/he is always struggling to keep up.
